Swindon have swooped for promising Polish teenager Kacper Gomolski to join their Elite League title-defending team for next season.

Gomolski, 19, will line-up alongside Ashley Birks at reserve for the Blunsdon men in 2013, coming to the Abbey Stadium on a bargain 3.90 average.

He achieved that figure when racing for Peterborough in 2011, and Robins boss Alun Rossiter was pleased to receive permission to open talks with the Panthers asset, feeling Gomolski can make use of his experience to produce a significant improvement.

Rossiter said: “Kacper has the reputation of being a bit of an entertainer and a showman, and when he gets going he is a very exciting rider to watch for sure.

“I saw him a few times when he was at Peterborough, and now he is another year down the line so he has more experience.

“I think he will do a great job. I am happy with the reserves I have now, and it is all about getting things right in all the positions.”
