Slovak star Martin Vaculik is determined to maintain his semi- final strike rate ahead of the Kjærgaard Danish SGP in Horsens on Saturday.

Slovak star Martin Vaculik is determined to maintain his semi-final strike rate ahead of the Kjærgaard Danish SGP in Horsens on Saturday.

The Zarnovica-born racer goes into round five placed third in the World Championship standings after tallying 10 points at the Mitas Czech SGP on June 10.

Vaculik has now reached three out of a possible four semi-finals this season, only missing out on countback in Daugavpils with eight points.

I said before the season to my team that the main goal will be to try and be in the top eight, the semi-finals at every Grand Prix.

He’s just seven points short of World Championship leader Patryk Dudek heading to Horsens and Vaculik is keen to keep his consistent scoring up.

He said: “I said before the season to my team that the main goal will be to try and be in the top eight, the semi-finals at every Grand Prix. That happened in Prague.

“I am third in the world and that’s great. The key is to try and be consistent. I made a few mistakes last time and I know about them, so I know I can be even better – much better. I will take this experience and try and be better next time.

“I’m very pleased with what I have now. I just want to keep it and work on myself to take this experience and be better.”

Vaculik travels all over Europe from his Zarnovica base to take on the SGP elite. So he was delighted with the welcome he received when he made the relatively short four-and-a-half-hour drive to his local World Championship event in Prague last time out.

He said: “I would like to say thank you to all the Slovakian, Czech and also the Polish fans. I had many fans in Prague. It was a great night.

“I want to say thank you to them, all my team, my mechanics, Simon Stead and Ashley Holloway. He’s doing a great job with the engines.”
