PAWLICKI LEADS LESZNO CHARGE

Piotr Pawlicki raced to a 14 paid 15-point maximum for Leszno as they triumphed 57-33 at home to Czestochowa in the Polish Ekstraliga.

Polish ace Piotr Pawlicki followed up his GP Challenge qualification with a 14 paid 15-point maximum for Leszno as they charged to a 57-33 triumph at home to Czestochowa on Sunday.

Pawlicki went through the card unbeaten as the Rietumu Bank Latvian SGP winner maintained his red-hot recent form ahead of the Kjærgaard Danish SGP in Horsens on Saturday night.

Former SGP rider Janusz Kolodziej raced to four wins from five heats to end on 12, while Grzegorz Zengota bagged 11 paid 12. Emil Sayfutdinov scored eight paid nine and Peter Kildemand picked up four paid five.

Rune Holta led the Czestochowa resistance on eight paid nine, with Matej Zagar struggling to three paid four.

Elsewhere, Zielona Gora piled the pressure on arch-rivals Gorzow at the top as Patryk Dudek and Jaroslaw Hampel joined forces to snatch them a 46-44 victory at Torun.

The World Championship leader topped the scorechart on 11 paid 12, leading Hampel to a 4-2 over Greg Hancock and Chris Holder in heat 15. Piotr Protasiewicz picked up a straight 11 points, with Hampel tallying 10. SGP title challenger Jason Doyle scored seven paid eight.

Hancock was Torun’s top performer on 11, while Holder notched nine paid 11 and Michael Jepsen Jensen bagged nine paid 10.

In the day’s other meeting, Gorzow retained their place at the Ekstraliga summit as Bartosz Zmarzlik collected 12 paid 13 to lead them to a 54-35 victory at home to Grudziadz.

Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen raced to 10 paid 12, with Przemyslaw Pawlicki picking up nine and Martin Vaculik adding eight paid 12. Former world No.2 Krzysztof Kasprzak registered six paid seven on his return from a broken collarbone.

Russian international Artem Laguta starred for Grudziadz on 13, while Antonio Lindback and Krzysztof Buczkowski scored nine each.
