Slovenian ace Matej Zagar produced more heroics in Sweden, scoring 16 as last year’s basement side Smederna booked their spot in the Elitserien play-off final on Wednesday.

The Eskilstuna outfit lost the semi-final, second leg 48-42 to Masarna on home shale, but their 52-38 triumph in Avesta on Tuesday was enough to put them into the final 94-86 on aggregate.

Zagar ended his season in sensational form for Smederna and reeled off five heat wins tonight to earn the fifth-placed side a shot at table-topping Vetlanda or Rospiggarna in the title decider. Their semi-final tie was rained off and will be restaged on Tuesday evening.

Latvian international Andzejs Lebedevs backed up Zagar with 10 for the hosts, while GP Challenge winner Przemyslaw Pawlicki starred for the visitors on 13, with Kim Nilsson collecting 10 paid 11 and Tai Woffinden adding nine paid 10. Antonio Lindback scored six points.
